Welcome Shamshoo,

Although I agree with your assessment for the most part, your kinda "late to the party".

This is a 7 year old thread. ;)

The newer F150' , 2015 or newer I believe that generation has the 10 speed tranny.
It pulls and pulls and pulls , with the 5.0 -400 hp V8 it tows well. Add ford's Max Tow package and you can haul alot. I always say more truck then trailer. In the summer when you see the giant fifthwheel camper and the Silverado bumper dragging...not good. And you do see it alot. Only once in the summer I saw a dually hauling a 24' travel trailer...now that guys figured it out I thought.
My nephew has a 3500 GMC with the duramax. I believe he has a ten speed tyranny too.

Pull a 3200 pound trailer with a LX2610 HSDC loader, MMM, filled tires, and sometimes the BH77 is on. Might be a little over the Chevrolet Colorado desired weight ability. But tow local and use common sense, also all brakes are good and operational.

The issue with towing heavy isn’t how much weight the drive train can pull as much as how much weight the suspension and brakes can handle. A trailer pushing a lightweight truck around isn’t fun or safe.

One thing not talked about is what can YOU legally pull ! Driver's licenses are 'rated' and while I can tow a fully loaded 'car hauler' with my pickup, I can't legally tow a skidsteer on a 10k trailer,or the TLB on a triaxle.
You never see the 'disclaimer' on those TV ads of pickups towing HUGE loads that 'proper paperwork' is required....

What about Campers up there in Canada? Do you have to have a special designation for that? I'm just curious. Mine weighs in at 13k and there is nothing special to do here.

'camper' ? like a 'winnebago'... basic ,entry level 'G' license, can even drive a 'school bus'( 4 seat max,no 'schoolbus' signs )

yeah SCARY !!!!

other 'buried in the law books'... ANY trailer with more than 3500# total weight(trailerr + payload) HAS to have brakes.....so the small utilities they sell without brakes are fine until YOU puta load of dirt into them...$$$$ fines

Camper...not Motorhome. Travel trailer as some call it. You have to have some special license?

Yeah. 35' box, 40' overall. So, should I go racing up north, would I need some special license? Combined weight is just shy of 23k
