Hi folks; my HST treddle and linkage is a little sloppy which i have tried to adjust and does not always return to the neutral. So I would like to replace some of the worn links and bushings. I see this is a very tight spot to work in. I'm wondering if you have to split the tractor to accomplish this. If so it's also clutch time.

My question is, has anyone done this before excluding the clutch without splitting the tractor (B7200) and are there any tricks or suggestions before starting.

My linkage broke a few years ago and the dealer wanted to split the tractor to remove it to repair for $1600. After I told them that I would be by to pick it up they agreed to cut a small 3/4 inch hole in the side so they could remove the retainer and remove the linkage to weld it up. Not sure where your sloppiness is from but hopefully it can be done without splitting the tractor. If you have tons of hours on the tractor you might consider it. I have around 2200 hours on mine and so far everything is fine as far as linkage and clutch are concerned.

Another hole, just what the old girl needs lol... it is a good idea and may be necessary as I really do not want to split open yet as I'm waiting for a garage to be built for some indoor facilities.
As for the hours, I bought the tractor used with 435 on the hour meter. Have no idea how many times it's been around.
The foot treadle is sloppy and will require some bushings and the links connecting the holder to the speed change plate is quite loose.
I want to make sure I can still obtain the parts or it will be fabrication time.
All is working, would just like to bring it back up to specs as it was neglected by the previous owner.
