I checked all 3 of my manuals (owner's, service, & parts) and found nothing on wheel nut torque. Odd.

I wouldn't think it would be a major concern to have the nuts torqued since tractor wheels are not a highspeed wheel and less likely to fall off in the dirt.

Or, check out www.kubotabooks.com. There are a variety of Owner's Manuals there -- none for a B7100 though. Check out the "Wheel" section in those manuals --- you'll find a lug torque spec for both front and back. I would think your B7100 would be the same -- the manuals there are free.

L3700 wheel nut torque:

100 ft. pounds front
160 ft. pounds rear

I don't know stud diameter on a 7100 but they are probably similar to the 3700. To be on the safe side you could probably back of from those torque values and still be OK.

Proper torque is very important on wheel lugs as over torque can stretch studs leading to fracture and under torque can result in loose condition and ruin the wheel, studs or both or lead to wheel coming off and tractor upset.

As there seems to be no manufacturer's spec I have used the torque chart for 12mm and 14 mm standard type bolts and tightened them to 50ft/lb front and 85 ft/ lb rear for the moment and will check them now more regularly.

addit: the design of the new hubs is terrific.

Page 28 of the operator's manual for the B6100HST and B7100HST shows 57-67 ft-lbs for the front, 91.2-108 ft-lbs for the rear
I really hope he figured this out considering the post is 12 years old.
