Hi guys,
I am just waiting on some gaskets so I can bolt a reco cylinder head onto my D750 engine. As one of the 8mm head bolts was broken and the head was cracked I have decided to fit all new bolts.
My question, I haven't priced genuine Kubota head bolts yet but is there any reason why I can't use a set of standard 8mm x 75mm grade 8 (or equivalent) bolts
or even "Unbrako" style hex heads? Also should the washers be hardened as well?
thanks for you help
cheers
Gazza

Now I am not a diesel mechanic, but have worked on just about every other type of engine and I would go with factory Kubota head bolts.

You're talking about the most important bolts in your engine and the savings would just not be worth it if even one after-market bolt was weak or defective in any way.

Just my opinion. :D

Hi

I'm going to replace head gasket for my b7001 due a small water leak, one of the bolts is broken so i've decided replace all of them.

I have no idea where to purchase a new set of bolts, any suggestion will be welcome.

i was thinking buy other head bolts (from any engine) that match on diameter, lenght and thread.Any idea about this?

thanks
