In short, yes the hydraulic oil can get into the engine, however unless you have a boatload of oil pouring out your vent tube, you should not loose your hydraulic pressure because of this. That tiny little motor only holds a few quarts of oil, whereas your hydraulics is several gallons! So you could have a hydraulic filter screen clogged off (if you are lucky) or your hydraulics are loosing pressure somewhere internally.
