Just bought a B6100. Runs great.
Going to be changing the oil and filter to start fresh.
Previous owner used regular oil.
Should I switch to a diesel rated oil?

Absolutely! Diesel rated oil has additives that a diesel engine needs. Hopefully, the engine hasn't suffered from using the wrong oil.

Tom - sometimes folks refer to conventional petroleum-based ("dino") oil as "regular" oil....versus a synthetic oil.

Of course, there are diesel-rated conventional oils.

I hope the previous owner's terminology was just ambiguous.

Like Hodge said, it's not a good practice to use a non-diesel oil long term.
