Instead of waiting a week and spending $30 per side, can I use rtv to seal the cases instead of gasket?

You might be fine doing that, but, One thing to note:
On a Kubota's, measurements on clearances rely on the gasket material for the measurement for assembly.
So if the case was dependent on that gasket to keep a clearance on a part, bearing, shaft, or a set of teeth, it will wear or bind and possibly break.
