I'm helping my friend try to get his B5100 running. Here's the low down, the injectors are working, we've got the air out of the lines, and it will almost hit but no dice. I don't like to use starting fluid but, it's not my tractor. You can spray a little and hit the switch and it will run like a sewing machine for a second and then dies. I'm stumped I thought it was the injectors but they seemed to be working good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I see you aren't a newb based on your post count, but have you confirmed the glow plugs are heating up? That was my problem just a couple weeks ago trying to get a 7100 running.

Sounds like it's not getting enough compression or enough/proper fuel supplied.
Are you 100% sure you have gotten all the air out of the lines?
It take a couple of tries to get the air out on my B7100.

I thought the same thing with the compression but if that was the case would it not run at all on the starting fluid? I'll crack the lines one more time just to check. Hows the best way to check and see if the injectors are spraying enough?

I got it running but it's leaking at the bottom bolt on the pump. How hard is it to take apart and put a new gasket and does anyone have the part number for the gasket?

If it is leaking diesel fuel from the bottom of the lift pump then you may need a diaphragm inside the lift pump. Check to see if fuel in getting into the engine oil. The gasket only seals the lift pump to the block. If the gasket was bad it would leak engine oil.

Also could be as simple as a loose or cracked fuel line and it is just running down the side of the pump.

Ok thanks I'll check for oil. You wouldn't happen to know the part number for the diaphram would you? Could it suck air right there and make it hard to crank? I bled the lines again and there was a ton of air. Once it cranked it ran like a charm.
