This picture tells me your not getting the rack pin in the proper location on the governor linkage.

I will get some sleep and go out there with some help tmr and try again. I just can’t believe my grandpa or I can’t get it lined up with both of our hands but all these ppl on YouTube can do it one handed while recording. I just hope I didn’t screw something up trying to fit it in before I knew about the fuel shut off switch.

Put the pump in place and push down, if it's the lobe it will squash, avoid doing it with a bolt.

See I kinda did that but I really didn’t put much pressure on it at all. I’d say not enough to get the lobe to squash. I’ve got all the right parts/pieces and it came out so it’ll go back in. I’ll make extra sure that the rack pin is in its spot tmr and if it’s still sitting funny I’m going to put some body weight ontop and see if it squishes down. I will say I took all the blue caps off and it’s full of oil/ diesel so I think it’s completely extended etc so I probably will have to squish some of that oil out to get it to seat down. Thanks for all your help i definitely wouldn’t have made it far without you. I know the one post may have seemed ungrateful but i just didn’t know if you’ve done it on this exact engine or just have done it on others before that were similar. I’m just young and used to working on things that have YouTube videos that show exactly what to do not these very vague service manuals that leave a lot up to interpretation. It’s also just got me stressed out just spent 14k on this tractor and all I wanted was for it not to leak anymore. I will admit wish I wasn’t as hard headed and just let the dealer do this one for me. Oh well I will figure it out and the money saved is getting spent on a valve adjustment.

There is thousands of variations to these engines and there is always a little hang up, when you've done enough of them you know what feels right or what feels like an issue.
Hang in there it will come together!

thanks wolfman, I got it all put together today. I had everything right about the first 10x just had to compress the springs and tighten it. Bled the lines and made sure they weren’t leaking and it fired right up. No more leaks and everything works good like before! Now to call the dealer and get it in for a valve adjustment and call it a day.

Valve adjustment is super easy, it more than likely does not need it done.

I do it on all my gas equipment, I’ve just never done it on a motor even close to similar to this. I called the dealer that sold it to me and they were nice but they expected me to just rush the tractor up and have them do it and not get a price for it. It got awk and he said he’d have to look it up and then I said well I’m not taking my tractor in to get worked on when I don’t know how much it cost. He said he’d have to call me back with a price and I said alright and we hungup. Just kind of strange to me. I called the only other dealer within 100 miles of me and they were nice as could be. They didn’t pickup the first time so I left a message and asked specifically for a quote… he called back not even 2 mins later and had price for adjustment and unloaded so much knowledge about my tractor to me. I’m pretty tractor stupid this is my first one and first one I’ve really operated. I’ve had skid loaders but nothing with l m h. He informed me that if I’m ever digging hard with the fel to make sure it’s in l. Basically had a 5 mins conversation about the dos and donts. He said the valves most likely don’t need done but I told him they are a little noisy at startup to me but might just be cold diesel. Either way cheap insurance especially if they’ve never been checked or adjusted before. Then offered to change my trans fluid for the cost of fluids. Couldn’t have been better service at this new dealer I found which I’m very glad about it due to the fact the dealer I bought it at is more residential oriented and more about sales it seems then service. I should have known when the owner of the dealership gave me straps for a utv for my tractor. They were some goofy ass straps with rubber inbetween but the actual strap was only like 7 foot long lol. Then gave me wrong straps again for flat bed damn well knowing my landscape trailer was outside and that was the main reason I bought such a small tractor lol. Anyways navigating my way through new tractor ownership pretty well. I was feeling less than confident about working on it in the future until I found this new dealer that knows their stuff and are ontop of their shit. Little bit more of a drive but worth it to have good ppl, mechanics that also man the phones for real questions and not a receptionist that just takes names and makes appointments and has no clue about what they’re fixing etc and cant give me a quote. Enough rambling I’m happy now I just have to get this frozen clay out of my trailer so I can take it and wash all the fuel and hydraulic fluid off it and give it a good scrub since I bought it still covered in manure and fluids from the last owner.
