Mike, buy the unit you want at the best price you can get. Don't worry much about the local dealer for service or parts. They will do the work for you and sell you parts, no matter where the machine came from.
Might go back to that local dealer and show them the quote you have, and when they can't match it, ask if they'll service it when you buy it from their competitor. THEY WILL.
I own 4 Kubota tractors, (none under warranty, they're too hold) but I have no problem with parts. I bought 2 new from O'dell Tractor (now one of the 3 Coleman stores). I never went back to them for anything but oil and filters. Never had an ounce of trouble with either tractor. Still have the B8200.
The dealers around here will be helpful. I needed a seal to put a tractor together last week. I called Coleman's in Bonner Sp. they didn't have it and would have to order it. Called Storrer Imp. in Iola, called Romans in Louisburg. All could get it, but have to order and I was impatient. Romans offered to look to see where it would be, or where I might find one quicker. Turns out in Durant, OK. She tells me 350 miles away. I called Durant. They had it, but to mail it to me it would go out the next day (mail had already been picked up for that day), go to Dallas, then to Tulsa, then to KC, then to me! I looked on line again and found one in Smithville, MO (yes at the other Coleman location). Picked it up the next day in Bonner!
