My B21 HAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM!
The alternator works but does not charge the battery. I replaced the battery and had the alternator checked. I had some of the wires in the wiring harness sizzle and melt where the lights/turns signals plug in and the problem started at this time.
Is there a voltage regulator that controls when the alternator activates somewhere in the wiring harness that may also be bad?
If so, where is it located?
Can I run a wire directely from the alternator to the battery?
I am getting tired of hooking up a battery charger everytime I am done using it!
Thanks,
Jim

Check the fuses first. A blown fuse will cut off the regulator. If you had wires "sizzle" it's a safe bet a fuse blew. Figure out why the wires sizzled, fix that, replace fuse, and cross your fingers and fire it up.

On my B7200 the fuel gauge was dangerous close to the main switch, it rotated and bit and touched a hot terminal, blew a fuse. It would start and run fine but wouldn't charge the battery.
