Looking for help with a B1550 HST that won’t start. When the key is turned to run I get dim lights on the dash and headlights and everything goes off when I turn to start. When I turn the key off there is a buzzing sound for 5-10 seconds. I’ve replaced to key switch, fuses, regulator, glow plug relay, all 3 glow plugs, battery and fusible link. Also cleaned the ground on the negative cable. Still no change. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

You cleaned the battery ground at the frame? Are you handy with a volt meter?
I did pull the negative terminal off and cleaned where it bolts to the frame and used dielectric grease.
I am a novice with a volt meter. I do have 12 volts at the key. 12 volts at the starter and 12 volts to the glow plug when he key is turned to glow plug.
It seems like a bad ground to me but the only one I can find is from the negative battery terminal.

There is a link to the workshop manual for yours with the wiring diagram.

Sounds like resistance issue in either the positive or negative cable. I would load test the cables to start with. Take one lead of the volt meter and put it on your negative post at the battery, take the other lead and put it on the ground at the frame. Try to crank it and see if you have any voltage. Same on the positive side, one lead at the positive post of the battery and the other at the post at the starter, try to crank and measure voltage. If you have any voltage over a volt you have corrosion or connection issues in the cables. If nothing there then go from the post at the starter with one lead and the other at the ignition switch power feed, same thing any voltage then corrosion or connection

Maybe pull your starter and clean the mounting surface at the starter and bell housing. Your starter gets it's ground through the steel, and oxidation can help reduce the voltage.

I had to replace the clamp on a ground cable once due to a similar issue. The wire in the clamp gets corroded - or the same thing may be happening at the other end too.
