Ive just fitted a tacho to my B1500 and discovered that the ticker is running too fast - around 1700 rpm does anyone know how to adjust it as its not obvious to me currently. What should normal ticker speed be ?

Let's see if we understand what you mean.

You placed a new trach on your B1500 - Is this an aftermarket tach? A hall effect tach? OR?????

Yes aftermarket - eBay special, Its a hall effect tachometer with a proximity switch mounted close to fan belt pulley that senses a magnet.
I believe the new tachometer is measuring / displaying the correct speed, so I'm looking to understand how I can reduce the ticker speed of B1500 engine.

What pulley did you install the magnet on? Crank ? or?

And I are you looking to reduce idle speed?

Installed magnet ion the crank.
Yes, I'd like to reduce the idea speed, not sure what it should be on this model but think 1700 that it currently is is too fast.

There will be a screw on the throttle control that adjusts idle speed.
