I need some help finding bearings for the dynamo on an old B-6000. I think the magnets and windings are fine- the bearings just seized. I've hit all the local auto parts stores and nobody has a match. Does anyone have a cross ref part number or even a Kubota part number?

Thanks!

A local bearing company should be able to match something up, as long as you have the old one or the 2 parts they can usually match it up. did a local search in your area and you can try these places, dunno how close you are to any of them or if they will have what you need but worth a shot, or maybe they can point you in the right direction.

Those shouldnt be hard to locate through a Kubota parts dept. Iffin you cant find them, give ol' Service Dept Vic on here a shout. He'll get'em. (probably already has 'em)

Changed them on my 1980 B7100 last summer. Napa had one for around $12 & a local motocycle repair shop had them for $5 ea.! Took the Napa one back!

Great! I'll try those options. I did find the parts manual for it, but Kubota doesn't list more than just an assembly. I was getting discouraged when I couldn't match it up locally or with the online bearing catalogs. I thought Kubota had made something that required replacing a simple part for high dollars to continue use of the equipment as a revenue enhancing move. If someone has found the part, at least I know it's out there.

Does the 7100 have the same alternator that sits behind the fan and looks more like a water pump than an alternator?

Thanks!

Nothing, both refer to 4x4, front wheel assist, dual traction (take your pick). all have become to be interchangeable in general conversation.

Thanks to all of you who responded! It's really nice to have a forum like this for help with the odd things that come up with an old grey market tractor.

I did find the bearings at a small engine shop for a whopping $3.80 each. The counterman just looked at them, went to the back and came out with a new one. He measured it there to be sure and I was on my way. That was a lot better than the auto parts store I went to where they searched books and scratched their heads. That had me worried that it was a custom bearing for Kubota. I don't have them in yet, so the problem isn't quite over- but close.

Thanks again!
