So my wife caved and Said I could get a tractor. I knew what I wanted b2601... Quote is at $21.7k out the door.
What I get? Quick attachment and insurance. I thought that was over priced and should try like barlows?
Or am I not bring reasonable?
I was thinking more like 18k out the door.

Re: Are they getting over on me?

It does seem a little overpriced if you didn't get anything else. Have you tried "Build Your Tractor" on the Kubota site?

Re: Are they getting over on me?

If you buy from a dealer require them to throw in ALL manuals Operators, Work Shop for tractor and Each of the seperate implements you get at same time. (WSM's for Electric, Hydraulic, Mechanical/Service etc....Asking for it this manner is in case there might one part NOT included with Typical WSM like say Electrical). That is potentially $300+ savings retail on a newer equipment

I just did the ol "build a kubota" -

B2601 - QA and 60" QA Bucket with R4's.....

that came to 19.5k......Maryland tax = 6%? Insurance is gonna be about another 1K.....

However......not KNOWING what else you got in your package I would say it is a little high.

Typically if you take the tractor - build it, look at price and then knock off about 10% - you will be in the ball park.

Tell us everything you got a quote on - also, call ANOTHER DEALER, better yet - go to the dealer in person! (AFTER the snow moves out!:D)

Re: Are they getting over on me?

See another dealer.
My own little BX on the Kubota site was about $21K cash. added a rear blade and FEL QD, got it delivered for $18,500 OTD

There are often a few rebates, in my case, $1,500 worth and the dealer worked with me. I know he still made a nice profit.
Do not let the financing gag of them spreading out the additional cost over the term of the loan and say 'it is only $25.00 a month more, you look like you can afford $25.00...' $25.00 X60 months is $1,500. My response is when they hit me with that line is 'You look like a successful sales person, great at your job, certainly you can afford to drop the price, just drop it a dollar a day, pocket change to a successful guy like you....'
Shop around. You may find a much better price (certainly off season) and get it delivered.

I got mine from Land & Coates, they are a multi state operation, maybe there is a good one near you.

Re: Are they getting over on me?

Yeah that was everything in the package... Period. They said loaded tires included but that's it. No joke. From reading online I should be able to get like 10 % off the online build. But that was it. You're right with 6%

Yeah I think they were getting over for the snow. Don't blame them though.

Sit back a bit and wait the snow out, drive around and see if there is another dealer, I am sure in your neck of the woods, there are 1/2 dozen dealers in a 50 mile radius. I also think that the time spent talking to other dealers will be worth the money saved. I think you could save a grand or more if you wait a little. Right now might be like buying batteries during a power outage!;)

Takota, 21K sounds like a great deal. Congrats! I just paid 19428 OTD for a B2301 with a 54"MMM and Land Pride P15 post hole digger with 9" auger. The Kubota dealer is 5 miles from my house, the JD dealer 20 miles, and that is about it for anything that is remotely convenient. Doesn't make for very tough competition, but admittedly I am a terrible negotiator and I am sure the salesman could see my excitement. First tractor, getting delivered this Friday. Woot!

I think i will end up with the BX25D, I really have need for the backhoe more than anything else. Just wish I could also have the clearance.
The BX25 is a great little tractor, take a look at BXpanded for some goodies to add to the little beast. The skid plate is key if you will be in the woods.

New is new, and I get that, but don't discount getting one a couple years old if that's ok for you. Your local craigslist probably has at least a few if you search around patiently. It's how I found my BX2360! And got the deal of the century IMO :)
