Thanks for the photos. Brings back memories. I rode on the fender of one for many hours as a kid, helping with hay.:)

Nice looking 730 Comfort King Case. When I was a kid we had a 930 and 1030 Comfort King Case and a 580CK Case set up as a farm tractor. Great lugging motors and would pull like crazy. The only problem was the brakes weren't worth a d***. Stopping was a challenge and if the brakes did work it was an all or nothing event meaning you touched the brake pedal and the wheel would lock up and you slid.

I found this tractor setting in a barn with a pyramid of pigeon dropping on the right fender, about a foot high!

The man didn't want to sell it because he owned 80 ac. he needed to mow once in a while with his 10' Bush Hog mower. When he sold the land he call me to see if I was interested in his tractor.

When I got it, I began cleaning. I built the sun shade, painted the wheels and a few other visual things.

When the previous owner went by, going to the livestock auction, he saw the tractor at the farm. Next time I saw him he asked me where I found another tractor. I told him they're hard to find, but you just have to keep looking. I kept teasing him about that tractor. Told him to stop by and check it over. Sad part of this story is he passed on before he ever knew it was HIS tractor!

He was a neat man. Died at 84. Had been a council member of his town for 48 years. His goal was to make it to 50. It's a small town of 200, or so, residents.

Westendorf's loaders of that vintage were red. I painted it black, rebuilt the cylinders and changed it over to their quick attach system. I use the tractor for baling round bales and feeding them in the winter.

They are one heck of a good tractor. Even the Case-O-Matics were pretty cool if you knew how to drive them. I mowed my lawn for 12 years with a '48 VAC and Sunmaster belly mower. Actually did a better job of mowing than my Kubota. However I much prefer the power steering and live p.t.o. and 3 point. sold it for $500 more than I paid for it. Ran like a champ and always fired right off. Even with hand crank.

Did have wiring catch fire once, re wired the entire tractor in 60 minutes. I miss the old tractor. Power is just so different in the Kubota.

Mike, that Sunmaster mower was manufactured just up the road from me 25 miles. No longer in business, but were good mowers.

Yes, that 730 weighs just a tad over #7000. With that loader it pushes into a pile like a dozer. It's almost indestructible, with just some care.

My dad had Case 730 construction king bought new in 1962. It had the loader and three pt hitch. They were great tractors.
