I believe my tractor has a 2 stage dry type clutch. The clutch does not disengage the PTO, but disengages the transmission fine. A quick look under the tractor appears as if all the linkages are good. How should i trouble shoot this problem? what are the most likely possibilities? Thanks.

May have to split the tractor and replace the clutch. My dad has a L275 with a 2 stage clutch and his would not engaged the pto after a while but could change gers fine. Once a new clutch was put in problem was solved.

Yes replacement could be required but i would like to exhaust all other possibilities first. How to i adjust/check the clutch free play and travel? Also, does anyone know the function of the switch on the backside of the clutch pedal that would be activated when the clutch pedal is all the way to the floor?

Go to kubotabooks.com and download the Operator's Manual. The L2250, 2550, 2850 and 3250 are covered by the same manual. It details the adjustment procedure.

The clutch switch functions just like one in a manual transmission car. The clutch pedal closes a switch which completes the starter circuit.

Not sure if the L3250 has the same set up as my L3010, but I had a similar problem. On mine the PTO is engaged with a cable. And before I continue, will the PTO disengage with PTO lever? Or is the problem actually with the clutch?
