Good morning,
I have a strange issue with my 1-year-old BX25D,
While driving downhill on a gravel road in 2WD, if I release the accelerator and slowly start to break, just before the tractor stop completely , 1 of the back tire, start to oscillating back and forth.
This oscillation cannot be stop by breaking, it can only be stop by accelerating. Even by powering the tractor off, the oscillation will continue until I reach the bottom of the hill.
It doesn’t happen in 4WD
Also maybe part of the same issues, I try to drive the tractor on a asphalt road, in 2WD it also do some small oscillation, you can feel the back of the tractor oscillation left and right.

Is this normal , or there is something wrong with my transmission ?

Sounds like the liquid ballast in the tires.

Only in 2wd or also in 4?

When was the last time you checked the lug nut torque?

Liquid ballast is when you add a non freezing liquid to fill the tires for extra weight.

Chances are you do not have it since you questioned the function.

You didn't say how steep the hill was. It sounds like you are losing traction and one wheel is sliding on the rough gravel. On steeper downhills you need to use 4wd.

Like the back end of tractor is swaying side to side?
Or a slight up down? If i drive my L1501 on cement or hard pack ground it does a little wobble. I know most tractor tires arent perfectly round, may be a tire pressure issue. Easy place to start. Some like to over-inflate the tires. Check your manual.

He might well have liquid ballast and not know it.
My new BX2370 had water filled rear tires and I didn't know it. The Dealer added it because I have a FEL, but never mentioned it, and I didn't ask. It wasn't until I removed the rear tires to add wheel spacers that I discovered it.
