    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

Yes, I did. Both bevel gear housings and the differential.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I finally fixed my L185DT, and I immediately put it to work mowing about an acre just to be sure nothing went wrong with the repair. I also pulled around several logs that had fallen on our fence before we bought the place, and put them all in one spot.

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

She lives. I found no oil in the other gear case or front differential. I will keep an eye out for leaks, buy no wonder the bearings failed

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

Not needed. It's beat up, but serviceable. I had to angle grind some slots in the old bevel gear to pull it off with the puller. Cleaned the splines with needle files. Now to borrow a torque wrench and buy some gear oil. Finally I'll be able to mow again. The field is getting tall.

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

Yeah, it should, except that one of the loose ball bearings or, the other gears, put a few dents in the end of the shaft. Pulling the gear with a puller will reshape it though, and the new one will slide right on. Thought I should mention that the groove for the snap ring is fine, despite how...

Parts are here! I've got to get a gear puller, but it should bolt right on!

    Custom Grading Blade Cutting Edge

I can't find any more information online, so I'm not sure what else they made either. The other side of the blade is in good shape, so when I need to flip it, I won't have to order a new one. Sadly, the label was painted over. So its hard to get any identification off of it except "Grove"...

    Custom Grading Blade Cutting Edge

Thanks. I'll check the spacing on it today. I did find a little more information on it from this brochure for sale on eBay. The blade on it it is reversible as well, and the other side actually might be in good shape. I also now know a model number, but it does me no good. Haha.

    Custom Grading Blade Cutting Edge

Hey everyone, I have acquired an ancient, 7 foot, Grove Manufacturing Company three point grading blade that was cheap for good reason. Although it will probably outlive me with how heavy-built it is, the cutting edge needs replaced. Does anyone have experience with making their own from a...

    FEL

Does the L295DT take the L1200 loader from other L series tractors of the same era? You might find an L175, L185, L245 etc. With a loader you can use.

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

Good question. I'll take the rim off on that side and see, but I'm curious if the rims were swapped sides before I bought it. On that side, the hydraulic lines for the FEL have recently been replaced, and had burst in the past (according to one of the previous owners).

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

Since I already have it jacked up, can anyone tell if the other side looks like I need to replace the bearings and oil seal?

    Model, Age and operating hours

1980 L185DT, the tach cable broke at 2942 hours, before I bought it. It's on the list to fix.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yesterday, but: I jacked up my L185DT and finally removed the FWD portion of my 4WD to repair it. To my horror, I saw that the bevel gears were eaten up, there was a hole in the casing where part of the bearing shot out like a bullet, fragments of bearing and oil seal were everywhere. But, at...

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

Dm sent to 007kubotaguy. I'll be tearing down the rest of the assembly and getting an idea of any other damage.

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

Sorry for double posting, but I've made some progress and I have an idea of what happened and how to fix it. I need some opinions about the bevel gears. The casing damage is limited, so I think I can heat, weld, and grind it flat, will this distort or damage the casing more? The bearing at the...

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

An update: I have replacement bearings and a new oil seal. I will be tearing down the assembly this week, but I think I found the original cause of my issues. I am missing two lug nuts on the front wheel that I never noticed, and I'm guessing that the uneven wheel is what helped the bearings...

    L185DT Bent Bevel Gear Shaft

Hey everyone, Does anyone have parts for the FWD portion of a L185DT? What started as a weeping oil seal has turned out to be a bent bevel shaft, causing the oil seals to fail. I think the castings are okay, I have the WSM, but getting parts is a concern. Should I replace the entire assembly...

L185DT Jack Stand Location / Tips

Thanks! I have the WSM from the Kubota books website. I'm used to working on cars, so it isn't too daunting. I'm more concerned about finding parts!
