    Should I Sell My G1900?

Got it fixed. Phew, that was harder that I thought it was going to be. Just putting in the new shaft was tricky enough. I replaced both U joints the actual shaft and the front yoke. I'm glad I held onto it. I knew anything I replaced it with would be a piece of crap by comparison.

    Question on drive shaft replacement

I have the drive shaft all assembled but it's too long to fit. If you look at the diagram attachment you'll see piece 110 and the part that it slides onto that isn't labeled. The part has 3 screws that attach it to the bottom pulley on a set of 3 that turns the fan on the engine. I'm guessing...

    Question on drive shaft replacement

I'm taking the old drive shaft and u joints out to replace with new parts. I already have the part out but I'm wondering can I simply assemble the shaft and u joints together and just stick the whole piece back in all at once or is there more to putting it back on once it's assembled?

    Replacing drive shaft components question

When replacing an old u-joint, do I need to purchase a new sleeve yoke as well or can I re-use the old one if it's in good shape?

i just wish the part wasn't so freaking expensive. Does anyone here know where I can get cheap parts?

    Should I Sell My G1900?

I'm considering selling my g1900s with a 60 inch mower deck. It has only 880 hrs on it. The only problem is that one of the drive shaft's u joints snapped. It's the one that connects to the engine. The other end with the little white fan is fine. The tractor is about 20 years old and I...

    Flushing coolant

In the manual it shows it has a thermostat. I would assume every engine has one or it would overheat right?

    Flushing coolant

I did get both of them drained. The one on the block was plugged so I used a drill bit on it and it broke through the blockage. I did put in coolant and ran the engine for awhile. Isn't the coolant in the engine supposed to go down to where I have to top it off again? I ran it about 10...

    Flushing coolant

That worked thanks. I drained both plugs then filled the radiator with distilled water and then ran the engine 10 minutes. I drained it again and did the same thing one more time. I then put in the radiator flushing fluid and topped it off with distilled water and ran it 10 minutes. I drained...

    Flushing coolant

Thanks that helps a lot. The plug is a little t shaped screw with a plastic handle. There is a nut that it screws into. I only need to screw into where the t shaped screw goes in correct not unscrew the nut that it goes into correct?

    Flushing coolant

Before I move any further I want to make sure the cooling system gets flushed and new coolant in the engine. There are 2 drain cocks on my engine. There is one under the radiator and another one on the engine block. The one on the radiator drains fine. When I open the one on the block it's...

    Flushing coolant

Yes there is an MMM that the pto is hooked to. I haven't greased anything on it since I've gotten it from the previous owner in 2014. I did check the pulleys on the MMM and the belt looks fine. I'm able to rotate them by hand pretty easily and they don't feel stuck. I remember that recently...

    Flushing coolant

I've never heard anything make a steaming, screeching or whistling noise when it happens. The only thing I remember was one time on a hot day last summer the water in the radiator started boiling over but it hasn't done that since I put coolant in but remember I never flushed the system before...

    Flushing coolant

I have never heard anything like a horn when it appears to be overheating. I've also never seen the temperature gauge do anything to indicate overheating. I do know that when the engine starts smoking it wells up from the whole thing. This is the original video I posted several months back...

    Flushing coolant

Ok thanks I will try that. Also just so you know this only happens when going up hills and with the pto lever engaged. I was riding it the other day and it stalled when trying to go up a hill. The engine seems to run forever with no problems when the pto isn't engaged.

    Flushing coolant

I never checked the head for cracks nor the block. If you remember I posted pictures of the original head gasket and head and block. Everyone on a previous forum said that it looked fine. No one said that the head gasket was blown or anything. I checked the head for warping and couldn't find...

    Flushing coolant

Some time during the summer not knowing what I was doing I just put water in the radiator and never flushed the system. It boiled over once several weeks later and has had the overheating issue ever since.

    Flushing coolant

I do remember seeing coolant in the block holes when I replaced the head gasket so it's definitely in there. Another thing is that I checked the oil and there appears to be too much.

    Flushing coolant

I'm convinced that my engine is overheating do to needing the coolant flushed and replaced. My mower would stall and start overheating when going up hills with the pto engaged. The engine has two coolant plugs to drain. one under the radiator and one on the block. The one under the radiator...
