At what rpm to engage mower deck

My local lawn mower dealer suggests engaging at low rpm for a mechanical (lever) engagement. If using an electric clutch (like an a/c compressor would) he wants to see high engine rpm's before flipping the switch. Doing so minimizes the chance of burning out the clutch from what he says.

Agree!!!! There needs to be code on this site to only allow smaller images be posted, or ideally force everyone to use the routine of attaching images, which results in the thumbnails.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Some folks simply use motor oil in a squirt can to keep a drill bit cool. Not sure you need official cutting fluid. A dry drill bit getting hot will get dull so soon.

New keepers for shanks on box blade

Been looking online at box blades. Looking at the Land Pride version it appears the new models have done away with those keepers. Am I seeing it correctly? Looks like they use a pin through the scarifier and hairpin clip instead of a clip on at least the BB15 model.

    Greetings and tractor selection

I always enjoy seeing pictures of what others have or are doing. However, am I the only person using a computer with a relatively small screen? Frustrating to have to scroll back and forth to read a post after someone 'inserts' a monster picture. I find it much easier to read a thread when an...

An essential insignificant modification: cup holder

Ram mounts can be used to hold many things, from radios to computers to back up cameras to many, many other items. I have dealt with GPS City before and have confidence in them and their products. http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-cup-holder-screw-down-base-mount.html You will note they have...

    bucket level indicator

No pictures, but I will say it is an easy install with no drilling holes or welding. Simply replace the cylinder pins and add the rods. The kit can be ordered from your dealer for around $65. Bucket level indicator kit contains both pins, 2 piece indicator rod, bolt/nut and cotter pin. It is...

Where do you buy your diesel? (Duplicate post)

No desire to get a war started here....If you like your current suppliers by all means keep buying from them. Just one opinion but I would stay with Amoco in your area. Most diesels are a commodity and positions are traded from company to company at various terminals. Quality can vary from load...

Best implement to level soft ground

Just a word of caution-if your ground is officially considered to be wetlands by the NRCS you really want to have a serious chat with them about legalities before trying to drain or fill.

    Custom B2650 toolbox

Stopped by our local Lowes store today. They had the orange 12' grade 43 (rated at 4,300 lbs) like you mention. Price was just less than $30. The bulk 5/16" chain was only rated at 1,900 lbs, but cost $3.34/ft. Bulk was more expensive for a weaker chain.

    Ice Crystals in the Diesel

7 below F yesterday and no problems here, either in the tractor or extra fuel cans. I did mix white bottle Power Service fuel conditioner before the cold weather set in.
