How and when does the relief valve work? Here's why;
I've got a BX2680 and a pallet of rock weighing at least 1000 pounds, most likely more. A while back for fun, I tried to pick it up and the tractor said "oh HELL no".
Today, I had to move that pallet of rocks.
I put an empty pallet on...
I bought my BX2680 with turfs and they are great if there's no water anywhere. As we get a fair amount of rain, soggy ground=no traction so I bought a set of R4s and am completely happy; good on the lawn and much better traction.
As for buying, my dealer quoted me 1K for a set of wholegoods...
So along the lines of keeping them tight... Being a newbie having never used chains before, I see people use bungie cords on the outside to keep them tight which makes sense. My question is do you also do that in the inside of the tire too? If not, what keeps the chains from flopping towards...
Thanks all for the tips and advice, I'll give it a try. I have no pavement of any type, just dirt gravel and farm field so I'll just stay away from the parts I mow in the summer.
If the chains do in fact out perform the turfs, you'll be seeing a low hour full set of turfs for sale in the near...
The scenario: BX2680 bought with turfs. They worked great when it was dry out but I had big traction issues when it was wet out so I bought R4s. Traction problem solved and no damage when mowing.
And now... the snow.
I kept the turfs "just in case". First snowfall Thursday was 6" and with...
I'm new at this too with a BX2680.
Thursday with 6" on the ground I used the FEL to push snow out of the way and a back blade turned around 180 degrees all the way to the ground and angled on a mostly dirt/slightly graveled driveway. Worked nicely although several passes were needed.
Better watch out folks, we're taking over...
I'm ALSO a Nick that lives in Virginia and has a Kubota. Only difference is I ride a Harley. Well, maybe a few other differences too but I digress.
Welcome Nick!
Sincerely,
Nick on NoVA
I searched but didn't find what I was looking for. Here's the scenario:
I have about 6 acres to bush hog and it's really tall stuff in a field I haven't mowed before (unkempt hay field). Normally, I would keep the loader on (BX2680) with the bucket low but have so far only done that with...
My Grandfather knew how to spell the word tractor, does that count?
For me it all started about 178 hours ago AKA last year when I bought my first one. I'm very new to the game and trying to learn what I can.
Totally agree with what PaulL said, I've learned many of the same lessons.
I'll put emphasis on the fact that you have no front brakes so in 2WD you're relying solely on the rear tires having traction; a lesson I learned the hard way recently when I got careless.
Never get careless and enjoy...
Did a very similar thing recently and couldn't agree more! I've had mine for a little over a year and got complacent about checking things. Ended up in 2WD with the loader on and no weight in back going down a hill; stopped at the very last second but a wild ride.
Lesson learned for sure!
I recently used some inexpensive magnets from Amazon:
CMS Magnets Bar Magnets Neodymium Grade N45 1/4x1/2x3 Inches South Pole W/ 2#6 Countersink Holes Pack of 2
$11 so I thought why not? After one hour of bush hogging and two hours of box blading a driveway with several bumpy spots in between...
All I can speak too is my personal stupidity and a reminder to always check things. I keep my bush hog in a lower field down a decent hill and when going to get it recently I had the FEL on and no weight in the back. I'm just going to get the bush hog, what could possibly go wrong?
Did I...
