    Is my thinking correct that the hi - lo shift valve is the one that stays on the side cover when you pull it off. Because the top one you remove the 6 or 8 bolts is the shuttle / F&R and the bottom little one you unbolt from side cover im not sure of its job

    Saw where you were wondering my outcome with my l2550. After reading yours I am beginning to wonder if my problem isn't in the hyd clutch also. Interested to see what you find out. My main clutch was about the same shape as yours.

    Finished it up tonight started it let it run to prime hydraulics. Then oil started running out around rotary valve so guess im gonna have to pull the side cover again

    I did replace the clutch i had it tore down so I didn't see the point to put it back with the old one. It wasnt wore completely to the rivet heads but not far from them. I am hoping to fire it up and try it this week i will update you once i get it going.

    Got i split this morning clutch didnt look as bad as i thought it might. Definitely wore but should be expected with 2000 hrs. Throw out bearing looks like its been warm and maybe rubbing on pressure plate

    No I kinda stopped to see where the bearings came from and to decide how severe things were. That is my next step hopefully by the weekend I will have it split. Not much left to disassemble to have it ready to split so shouldnt take long.

    Tonight I investigated the rotary valve and pto detent ball. Rotary valve didnt have any balls I assume they go on top of the springs. Pto detent ball was there I do need to get the correct wsm used to have one but its disappeared.

    Wolfman where is the pto shifter for sure is it towards the clutch or back towards the rear of transmision case. Not sure what I am looking for there.
