    It’s a glorious day!!

Not a smart thing... paying it off early. Since it's 0%... there's no benefit to you, paying it off. AND... you loose the "K" insurance. So, in fact... you are penalizing yourself. I was originally going to pay mine early, just so I didn't have to think about it. But when I saw a post...

L45 Smoke and sputter on cold start.

Give it a few more seconds for the glow plugs to do their job. But as the guys above said... normal. White smoke is unburnt fuel... and as you can see in the vid... as soon as it gets a little heat (from more RPM than crank speeds) the smoke goes away.

    Fractured Zerk Fitting

Yep... what he said. Go to Harbor Freight, and get the left handed drill set. It will take it right out as it starts to cut. I've replaced a bunch on my ATV's that way.

B7500 won't start- battery is charged

It's a dead battery. Basically... when the starter hits, the voltage drops, and doesn't spin, and solenoid opens. Then the voltage recovers, and clicks again. (and again, and again) Go buy a new battery from a reliable source.

    Winterizer treatment before winter ok?

In this engine.... it won't hurt anything. But it's still in the 80's here in PA, and we won't get a real freeze until late Oct or Nov. And even then... it will warm up during the day. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it, but I also wouldn't go fill my Diesel cans for a while either...

    Mowing Gear?

I mow my front and back yards in low gear. It does a nice job, and since there are obstacles... I don't need to go fast. Once I hit the rear field... I put it in high, and go as fast as the bumps allow. (Doesn't matter if it's not as manicured)

    Another fuel question?

White is for winter. (as you know) But you don't want to mix them. I don't think they will interact badly... but you don't want a double shot in the fuel. If you are worried about the fuel in the tank, or leftover fuel in your fuel cans.... just mix in some Kerosene. (or Jet A) That's...

    60" deck on a BX1860/1870 - it works!

Reading the beginning of the thread... I was thinking about what your last post found. the bigger deck, WITH the factory bagger, and a slope will bog the smaller engine. To some, it's a "Who Cares" situation... or they don't have hills. But there's always that one guy who would complain...

    ZD21 Hydro Rebuild

Glad to see it worked out. If I come across one that needs love... and it's too expensive... I'll probably buy one.

Brand new L4701 lost oil plug and run dry

I agree. I've worked in shops in my younger life, and several of my buddies are mechanics. And my "Educated" opinion is.... MOST people that go into that field, do so because they can't do anything else. (so wrench monkey is a proper term) Very few do it because they truly like it...

Oil spraying out oil fill port on Briggs & Stratton

Don't run any engine with the fill port open. You will get spry. On a small engine like that... just make sure there's oil in it... and don't worry.

    ZD21 Hydro Rebuild

I meant using an "assembly lube." I wouldn't use any. Just use hydro fluid for the assembly.

    ZD21 Hydro Rebuild

If that oil was just staying the "Gear Box"... I would say yes. But since it needs to hold pressure in the seals of the rams in the system... I wouldn't use it. I would personally put a small bucket of your hydro fluid next to the bench, and just dip the parts as it goes together. Besides...

    The crooked FEL & Kubota's

I like the comment on the tires. So... how "Not level" is it? My BX1870 seems very level when I set it down on the driveway... but I know it's not in my garage. After thinking about it... my garage floor looks level, but it's not. There is a drain, and it slightly tipped to the center...
