    Really annoyed, more dealer headaches

What's dumb about this is the same "incentives" or "offers" are still in effect through the end of the year. So why not just allow you to pick the offer you want as if you are purchasing the tractor now? Orange has all the flexibility in the world; it's their tractor, it's their dealer, it's...

Help picking out a first tractor

During my travels today, I found a green dealer that was not large Ag; apparently it's a real thing that there are large and small Ag green dealerships. Anyway, this one was really nice. Gave the salesman an 8.5 out of 10; deduct half point for not knowing the knob below the seat affects the...

    Who stole the colon?

I didn't read the article. Was it in the rear?

What grapple are you using on your B2650?

If I were buying for a 2650, the EA 55-inch rake style is what I would get. Only 209# and dual cylinders for the claw/lid. Unless you know for a fact that you need the elongated bucket teeth for big logs and such, I think the rake style makes more sense for brush, branches, sticks, etc...

    Mx4800 vs 5200

I was reading the owner manual for another brand of tractor and found the below about their turbo. Every manufacturer might be different. If you narrow down what models interest you, download the manual from the website. Some are free. I think Kubota charges $10 to download. FWIW, turbo is...

Help picking out a first tractor

So I had a bad and good day of tire kicking today, but the net result was good. I went to the closest green dealer where they had the the 25, 32, and 38 3E series tractors on display. They all had black mold on the seats and plastic handles because they leave them out front 24/7. These tractors...

Rear light bar for backhoe work

The OPT7 brand of lightbars have worked well for me on ATVs built for mudding. I have a 20-inch on the front brushguard of my 4-wheeler. Rough conditions of mud, water, brush, etc. and it hasn't missed a beat. If you need a harness, it comes with a switch and a relay so it gets full power...

Help picking out a first tractor

Bad news... my initial land acquisition deal was a bust; my prime plot is not for sale. So I keep pestering... I mean, looking. Agree that ergos are key. I am only marginally comfy on the small L's; even with the seat all the way back, the floorboard and pedal is a little too close. I like the...

Help picking out a first tractor

At first, I dismissed your comment as, "Yes dear, I know." But then I reconsidered the 2501 elimination criteria: [I]The only reason to get the 2501 is (a) you're freaked out by the DPF, (b) your needs are more loader based than mower based, (c) or you don't have the extra $5k to spend. For...

Help picking out a first tractor

Thanks. I'm about as far away from you as it gets on the Arkansas, Mississippi AND Louisiana borders. Deep in the MS delta. I do have a dealer in my town, but I've checked the four closest dealers and they have everything but the luxury tractors.

Help picking out a first tractor

Update on my tractor shopping. I have eliminated the used market; just too unpredictable and difficult to trust, plus the free money incentive is too hard to pass up (my normal loan source that used to be around 4% is up to 6.25% - no good). Since both tractor and tasks are hobby-like for me...

    Who stole the colon?

I have two things to say about this thread: (1) I thought it was going to be about punctuation; (2) when I saw it wasn't, I didn't read the article.

Help picking out a first tractor

Thanks for that data point. Yes, I'm almost sure the 25 is all I need and after running numbers on all the standard L's and the smallest Grand L with the implements I would want up front, I go over budget at the 3301. That made me start checking the used market to see what's available in larger...

Help picking out a first tractor

Sticking to budget is a good idea. One of our local dealers told me that he always recommends a Grand L over an L IF the customer can get it in their budget. Not just because he can sell a higher priced tractor, but because the included amenities and greater hydro capability compared to an L...

Help picking out a first tractor

In round numbers, the 33 is $3000 more for 7 PTO HP more and the 39 is another $2000 for 4 PTO HP more on top of that. It comes down to if more is good, a little more than that might be better! The 25, 33, and 39 can all lift about the same weight. I think the 33 is the proverbial middle child...
