L48 - what are the 2 orange knobs on the back of the tractor?

A much better explanation than mine. :) Doug

L48 - what are the 2 orange knobs on the back of the tractor?

There is a lever to the right and below the steering wheel that you lift while pressing the brake pedals. A parking brake indicator on the dash should light, but may not if the switch mechanism is faulty. Doug

L48 - what are the 2 orange knobs on the back of the tractor?

Congratulations on your new machine. I have the L48 as well. If you were so inclined, I sure would like to see pictures of the rest of the top and tilt hydraulic control valves and the plumbing/hoses (where pictures are possible). As was mentioned above, they are vary capable machines. Did...

Show off your homemade grill guards

The L48 comes from the factory with a pretty heavy duty guard. Picture was taken to display the loader cylinder supports, but shows the radiator protection pretty well. It is a pretty heavy duty set up.

Replacing tie rod boots, are they standard sizes?

I just replaced the inner tie rod ends on my L48. I think they were probably fine, except the boots were shot. It appears they only make boots for the BX machines. Has anyone seen them for other machines? Also, I would like to replace the boots on the outer tie rod ends, as they are pretty...

    [DIY] BX SSQA FEL Cart

That will certainly do that. I was a construction field superintendent for over 20 years. I got to hate messes. I keep the floors pretty tidy...can't help it. Also, I use wheels also. I have a pallet jack, a few pallets and several dollies. I have two six caster, steel dollies that were...

Do they make a larger pedal for locking rear end

My L48 has individual brakes on the same side as the treadle pedal. I can't adequately express how stupid of a design this is. My grandfather's Massey Ferguson 35 brakes were never locked together. We used them individually very often. You could turn on a dime with the brush hog raised, just...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yes, it was a picture of yours. You sent me a few pictures showing the rear remotes, and other hydraulic related items. Thank you again for the pictures. Doug

Kubota Says No Wheel Ballast With a Backhoe.

Yep, it is a little bigger than the BT603. My other tractor is a John Deere 855, with a number 7 backhoe. Comparatively, it is a toy compared to the L48 with the BT1100.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yes, as far as I can tell. I have seen pictures of another l48 on the forum that has the same third function valve setup as mine. I guessing it was originally set up for a 4 in 1 bucket, back in the day.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Our burn ban finally went off this week. I spent some time burning. The main pile cooked off quick: Now I am feeding from the stockpile. The grapple is sooo great for this work. The down side is, it is wet out, and that means mud. I am trying to minimize the squirreling around so I don't...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Yup, same as in Green County Pa, at my grandfather's farm.

Kubota Says No Wheel Ballast With a Backhoe.

A while I after I brought the L48 home, I thought I would remove it just to see how easy/difficult it was to remove. I was impressed at how easily it was to dismount. Also, just as impressed at how easily it was to remount. I have a couple of 6 caster, c-channel dollies that I lowered it...
