Hey guys Im trying to get more lift capacity out of my LA463 loader. Is it possible to just add bigger piston from the factory with greater capacities to accomplish this? Or will I have to fabricate brackets?

I wouldent get too carried away, you dont need to break the loader arms trying to pick up a heavier load then the loader is designed for.

I agree. The loader, brackets and pivot pins, mounting points on the tractor, the tractor itself- all of this is an engineered system. If you go install larger cylinders, you can easily overload the system, and you may not have enough fluid flow to fill the bigger cylinders at the same rate, reducing the speed and efficiency. I don't know how new your tractor is, or how much it means to you, but while you can increase the lift capacity, you run the real risk of doing serious damage. I would adjust the approach to the job, or the job size, or go to a bigger tractor, before I would try to do something that the tractor isn't engineered to do.
My dad has a log splitter that had a bad engine. He bought a new engine, which was maybe 10% more horsepower than the previous engine. It split better, but it also tore the mount for the base of the cylinder off of the back of the splitter. We were able to fix it and beef it up, but that is a good example of what a little more capacity/power does to an engineered tool.

Thanks guys that makes a lot a sense. I was just curious I really don't need any more lifting for my everyday use I just thought it would be nice if they made bigger direct replacements, Thanks for all the replies

Hey thanks for being so understanding. We have people come on here with ideas like yours and we strongly advise not to do something like that, we try to explain the outcome and how you can make a bad situation worse and they still dont seem to listen and grab the concept.

Tractors are a useful tool to make a job easier and smoother, but they have their limits to what they can do. Some people in the past cant seem to understand its a tractor and not a bulldozer. Yeah tractors are a helluva lot better then a shove, but they seldom move mountains.

Hey now....My BX24 will move a mountain ;) It just may take a few years or decades to do it :D

Seriously though I have had to learn to take my time with proper planning you can do great things with your tractor.
