Apprently i been looking at the wrong number on the spec sheet!
Yeah, don't even bother with the suggestions in the manual. I've got 3" spacers on the 3800 and pretty much needs 6' attachments to cover there tires tracks. I run industrial tires which are wider than ag tires.

There's a member on here that has a twin blade 8' brush cutter and he says it runs it with ease. I haven't seen someone pull one yet, but there's a $15,000 finishing trailer/mower deal that's basically got 3 3 bladed 48" finishing mower decks (looks kind of like a riding mower's deck) that's towed behind a tractor. I'd bet the 3800 (30hp @ PTO) would run that thing easily.

The 3pt lift on the L3xxx series sucks. If you have tough soil, even a 9" PHD bit will require you to lift out the second it bites the soil otherwise you can end up screwing the auger into the ground and will have a hell of a time getting it back out. The only and not recommended solution to this is to....
---PTO engaged, but clutch in
--Rev to 1800 RPM or so
--Raise 3pt lift lever
--let fly the clutch and hope the auger comes out.
--don't get auger stuck again.

Hey, what is the part number for that RH handle? I have wanted one too. I see the holes in place, and find myself reaching for it from time to time too. :D
I added the handle on my L3301HST, and it really helps. I ordered the parts from Messick's:

Code:
Kubota 02771-70100 (NUT,FLANGE) Quantity: 2	$1.73 each	$3.46
Kubota T1060-29470 (ASSY, GRIP RH)	Quantity: 1	$44.62 each	$44.62

I have a L3301, around 100 hours. The machine has been thru around 5 re-gens with no issues. I just keep working until the lights go off.

I installed the right side fender handle just a few minutes ago. In the past I have always looked for a place for my right arm to rest. The fender handle seems to have corrected the problem.

Must be a popular upgrade as my dealer had them in stock. I got two one for me and one for my brother who just purchased a L2501. He purchased the smaller tractor due to the DPF.

I love my L3301 and look for things to do so I can enjoy my seat time.

Hello Brent,
If you have time, and don't mind, take notes and compare the difference between your L3301 and your brother's L2501, give us some feedback as to the difference of the two machines.

I will give some feed back hopefully this weekend. We have around 20 acres to bush hog and will have them working together.

I am wanting to see a side by side of them working myself.

The weather is saying rain, i'm hoping the rain will hold off.

When I completed my 50 hour service all of the plugs were tight.

I will keep an eye on them since reading this post.

I have a L3901-DT and have changed the oil two times, both times the drain plugs were tight.

What are you using the tractor for? Is it just one side that is coming out, or is it both?

At 50hr maint schedule only the left side plug was removed to drain oil, broke paint on right side when bolt fell out on left side.

I am pretty sure you are supposed to take both plugs out to drain all of the oil.

I'm not following you on the second part of your statement.

And yes, as 8upbowhunter said, you have to remove both drain plugs to drain all the oil from the pan.

At 50hr maint mech did not take out right side plug, I broke the paint around the bolt (plug) when I removed the right side plug to see what size it was.

I had the PTO switch issue start this weekend. First time I ever used the PTO this weekend and after a few hours of use. The PTO in the off position, the switch was not engaging. Tractor wouldn't start, unless I held the PTO switch back.

Thanks to the fourm, I relized my issue was the switch and I got it fix in a jiffy.
