I "found" this in the weeds at my property. It's been there since I bought the place 8 years ago. 2/3 of the reels spin. 1/3 cuts really well. This thing needs a lot of work and I'm interested in doing it; but I have no idea where to start. It's a Worthington Jacobson, no idea how old. Any idea where to find a parts diagram or find parts?

If it’s a Worthington Jacobsen it must have a good bit of age on it being Worthington was purchased by Jacobsen in 1945. Apparently the Worthington name survived another 20 years or so.

Of course Jacobsen is still around and still making high end commercial mowers. Might start by contacting them to see if they can be of any help with info or parts: https://www.jacobsen.com/about-us/contact-us
Might get you nowhere but that’s where I’d start.

Wouldn't this have had a second row of mowers? Reel mowers can be finicky and don't take to picking up sticks etc. But they leave a beautiful cut.

NICE !! 1st step, go 'walkabout' and find the rear 'gang' ! Should be 2 more reels, they cut the grass between Left and center, center and right reels of the front section.
2nd, use Google... to find manuals, etc. AND check online for 'used/abused' units. Be sure to go to local scrapyard ! I went to one here, bought an 189x IH potato digger, well most of one...went back 3 months later and found the missing 'dolly' section !

There is a whole community like OTT that is devoted to Worthington tractors and implements. I don't have a web address off the top of my head but Google should find them pretty. If not ask again and I will ask a friend that owns several of the things.

My golf club is still mowing with the G10 and ground driven reels they bought new when the club first opened in 1956.

I'm restoring a Worthington tractor and I would love to get my hands on a gang reel mower like this to go with it!
They are not uncommon. My golf club is still using a six gang set to mow rough.

Ooops - I see that was in response to my post. Ebay or a simple Google search should return you some hits.

Thanks Dan, you’re right! I’ve been searching my way through the internet and it looks like my best bet is be patient and wait for one to turn up at the big equipment auctions. No grass to mow this time of year anyway!!

Hi - did you ever find more info on them? I just bought a set last night and am trying to figure out how they work and how to maintain them
