I am in the process of purchasing a new Kubota tractor and I am really torn between the models. Have ten acres to maintain and want to use it to haul firewood, brush hog etc. I have concerns on PTO horse power. Any recommendations on what size to buy. I don't want to over size yet also don't want to cut myself short. Help!!

Re: What to buyB2650 or B3350

I currently have a B2650 and love it. If I would change anything, I would have bought the L2501. Same horsepower just more weight and no mid-pto.

I originally got the 2650 for the mid pto thinking that I would buy a mower deck, instead I went with a Zero Turn Mower. The 2650 does everything I ask it and more times than not, I need more ground engaging weight than more power.

Pretty much everyone likes their B2650. Seems like you'll run out of frame strength before you run out of hp. If it doesn't seem heavy enough look at the L series.

Be sure to read up on the B3350 and its regen problems before you decide. Seems like Kubota may have the bugs worked out in the most recent ones, since there have not been any complaints on the forum in a while. I think to own one successfully you have to be willing to follow directions obsessively, live in a warm climate, and get it from a dealer with a first class tech support shop and a real good customer service attitude.

Re: What to buyB2650 or B3350

as a former owner of a b3350. even if kabota has fixed the problem's. i wouldn't buy another one.. the b2650 lacks the power of the b3350 also the lower rpm of the b2650's mid pto, makes mowing a bit more challenging. i would still be hesitant buying a b3350, due to having to deal with kubota and the problems of the b3350 for over a year...

My exact thoughts! Absolutely love my B2650. Plenty of power for me. I don't really use either PTO yet, Loader, BH, Pallet Forks and York rake for me, so I can't comment on PTO hp. Wish i gave the L2501 a little more of a look for the weight, but overall VERY happy.

B3350 owner 2013 I think it was one of the first built, tractor is flawless, 150 hrs no problems, love the extra HP, and cab air, I live in the south warm weather, I run full throttle most all the time when working, I have loaded tires 4 in wheel spacers, tractor had done all I have ask of it, I have read all the review's, all I can say is my B3350 has been great. But if I had read all the bad review's before I purchased it I think I would NOT have purchased it. I really don't want any tractor with a DPF.

Re: What to buyB2650 or B3350

I have had my B3350 now for two years and can't sing enough praise of it. No problems with the regen at all. I was told by a very reputable tractor owner who has a long experience with different brands of tractors, to buy the highest horsepower you can afford. I almost bought the 2650, but decided to go with the 3350. So very glad that I did.

Re: What to buyB2650 or B3350

^ Ha ha ha if that were the case, I would have bought a 100+ HP tractor for my 6 acre property.

I bought a B2650 as it suited my needs perfectly.

Admittedly I am a total newb when it comes to tractors, but from my research when buying mine, it seems these Kubotas don't have any issue holding their value. I don't think if the time came and I ever thought about buying a bigger one, that I'd take too much of a hit.

Re: What to buyB2650 or B3350

When I added more property I decided to move up from a B7500 to a B2650. In particular for more FEL lift capacity for a grapple, and more power to run a 72" mower deck and 60" rotary cutter, all while offering relatively light weight and small footprint. This tractor does just that. The motor runs so smooth and has plenty of power for the 72" deck, honestly I've never encountered a situation yet where I thought I needed more power.

Re: What to buyB2650 or B3350

I went with the B2650HSDC because I am new to diesel and wanted the simple engine, no DPF, I did not even know what "regen" was but did not want to deal with it, lol. Question: Does the DPF effect the power/hp of the 3350?

The DPF issues seem to have been taken care of, with the 6th or 7th software revision...

I know locally, dealers wont sell them. Snake bitten. The one closest will advise a B2650 or a jump to a Grand L for those wanting a Cab.

Re: What to buyB2650 or B3350

I have a B3350 I was looking at the B2650 when I purchased it, I want the smallest tractor with factory cab and air, I picked up a used 3350 with 42 hours, I didn't know about any DPF problem, turns out I am glade I purchased the bigger horse power tractor, I have had jobs when it was all my 3350 would handle I really don't think the B2650 would handle some of the jobs I do with my B3350, I probably should have purchased a bigger tractor, but I can use my finishing mower to cut my front yard, then hook up my bush hog and go to the pasture and do some heavy bush hogging, I am well please with the B3350 I really don't think the B2650 will match the power of the B3350.

Yes I agree the b3350 has exhaust issues, unless you keep that exhaust temp up, your looking at problems. The b2650 is more forgiving when it comes to lighter work. The b3350 needs to be worked

With 10 acres I would take a close look at the l2501 . Yes it is only 25 horsepower but more torque as the motor was detuned to meet epa 25 horsepower. Look at the specs it is a 1.6 liter 100 cubic inches .I was lookin at the big b or the lx but price difference is so little and you get a lot more capabilities .
