Thinking of getting a Kubota with belly mower; my yard in bumpy, lots of low and high spots; hows the belly mower do on yard like that?
Currently i use a finish mower for back 3 acres and riding mowers for the front lots of trees too,
I have 3 riding mowers 38”54”60” and finish mower is 72”
Old tractor pulls it and ny rtr1250 but is dying

Any advice is appreciated, thought about zero turn can’t pull my tiller and have the one free and other
Two riding already

Thanks,
Jim

There's no real reason it would do differently than your riding mowers at 60" would do. Are you looking at a Kubota with a suspended deck or a ground contact deck? I think you'd get different outcomes depending on which. In the new Kubotas the B2601 (and BX) are suspended, the LX is ground contact. I'm not sure which are which in the older models.

Thanks, i’ll research some more on that info
Bx23xx and bx26xx and a b2910 are my top 3 now
Old 38” yard machine goes over bumpy area no problem, newer 54” Husquvarna gets stuck at similar cutting height, the 3rd 54” riding mower am putting back together

I recently bought a LX3310 cab with the 72" MMM. My land is pretty rough and so far the MMM is working okay on it. I am kind of surprised since the gauge wheels it rides on are half the diameter of the wheels on my finish mower. Time will tell if it holds up though.

The small frame of the LX3310 makes for a very rough ride and I have to go pretty slow to endure it. The noise level in the LX3310 with cruise control engaged is deafening so I have to wear hearing protection. The normal hydro whine is tolerable without the cruise control engaged. Go Figure?

How many acres for the front that a belly mower would cut? I cut about 2 acres with my BX1880. Bumpy in some spots. Deep ditches. Works great for my yard plus some cutting on a field road (about another acre). With you considering a BX, will you be using the loader? If so, will it be enough lift? All the BX line of tractors have the same lift capacity. Mine does fine for winter plowing too with the read blade on the 3 point hitch. Only real difference with the BX series is the HP. If you think you will want a bit more lifting, the B series may work for you. Depends on how much money you want to spend on a new tractor. Do some comparing on Kubota web site to help you narrow it down. Go look at them to see for yourself. Sit in one to see if its comfortable for your size. Good luck.

95% of what the site is saying is 100% poppy cock.

The B3350 is an avoid model, as is the L3000 but that's it, the other models are no more prone to issues than any other Kubota built.

Yep. Other than the models you listed, that article is FOS.

You are witnessing the destruction of the internet. You used to be able to get good advice by visiting websites run by knowledgeable enthusiasts. Not any more.

That site is AI generated. It's summarising junk off forums with no discernment, and makes many of the spelling and grammar errors that AI often makes. It's farming clicks by pretending to provide information, but it's actually just trash. As AI gets better it will become harder to identify sites like that, but for now it's pretty obviously a bad summarisation of wrong stuff.

Seriously, there are problems with the B3350, but one of them isn't "dull blades". AI has no context and no ability to work out what's true or relevant. Any mower could have dull blades. As for the BX2380 being a model to avoid.....it's one of the best selling tractors in the USA (if not the best selling). And it's listed basically the whole BX range over time. Which is just because there's a lot of them, so people can break just about anything on them and post about it on the internet.

For a small tractor that can do tractor things, but is also great at mowing, you're looking at a BX (any model, but probably BX2380), or a B2601. The LX will do the job but is more than you need.

The MMM on either will do a fine job. They'll be rough riding over bumps. You can mitigate that a little by making sure NOT to fill the tires with fluid (no matter what people say - it removes all flex from the tires), run lowish tire pressures, always mow with the loader off (the loader causes it to pitch - lots of weight way out in front), and adjust your speed to what your back will tolerate.

If you worry about time spent mowing, then one option is to go wider and slower. A 72 inch RFM at 10mph mows the same amount of grass as a 60 inch RFM at 12mph. An 84 inch RFM at 8mph mows the same-ish as well. They also use the same HP - the HP requirement for an RFM is assuming you run it fast. If you go slow you need less HP because you're cutting less grass per minute.

Lets face it if a man made it a man can break it. And nothing is perfect from the factory, if the big K was as bad as all this, well there would be a lot of ones on CL really cheap

and his woman WILL tell him he did !!!!

BTW, that 'article' could easily apply to EVERY make and model of every tractor ever made, it is so 'generic'.......'says a lot, means NOTHING' !!!

Interesting site but sophomoric and of questionable valve.

Listing "faulty spark plugs" and/or "dull blades" as a reason to avoid any model of diesel tractor is laughable.

When I went looking for a used tractor.....I skipped the last 20 years and went for the Kubota with Orange #1 as the color. Tried and proven technology without all the computers.

My 2006 orange #2 L48 TLB, bought used in 2019, was only 13 years old, and also employs proven technology.

I’d question the validity of the recall information you found.

Not sure BX2380 was available in 2014.

My BX2360 is about a 2013. BX2370’s were also out then too, and the model lasted several years until the 80 series came out.
