Recently a stick or stump bent the J-pipe on my Kubota L4400 (#170 in the image below)

I have a new one ordered. The bolt (#180 in the image) was so tight that I had to push with my foot on my 18-inch wrench.

Does anyone know what it should be torqued to when I reassemble this?

Wondering if it was put in with "lock tight". Have you looked at a workshop manual?

Well, the description for #180 says 'joint' so not much help there. Are the two #190's brass washers? Looking at the bolt in the diagram and what it is doing it looks like a hollow bolt so the fluid can flow through. If this is correct it should not take a ton of torque but could have had Locktite on the threads. You may be able to see signs of old thread locker on the bolt. If you have a WSM for your machine it may tell you the torque spec.
Hopefully Dave will chime in.

I do not have a WSM. That's why I was hoping that someone could give me the torque settings.

Yes, those are 2 brass crush washers and the bolt is hollow like a break line bolt. The bolt was clean of any Loctite residue.

So, nowhere to get a PDF of the Kubota WSMs then?

If not Locktite, possibly paint from factory holding it fast if this was first time removed.

Just a guess...maybe 30-40 lb range??

Did you post the same question on TBN?

I thought I gave my uneducated opinion somewhere. Anyway, do not over think this. It is a simple banlo fitting. Tighten it up by hand and you should be fine. Best to have new number 190 washers, but originals will probably work the second time.

I did. I don't come here asking questions often, so I don't really know which board is better.

By the way, I think you said a gorilla tightened the original, so you should not have to worry about over tightening, unless you too are a gorilla...:)
