Hello all..new member and first post. Just bought a BX1880V and am curious what is the largest wrench/socket I am likely to need for general repair and maintenance??

22mm is the largest I know of for most things.

1 1/4" or metric equiv. for mower blades - good place for never seize on threads

30mm is the socket size for the blades. That's the only large socket I can think of that anyone would need for general maintenance. Rest of general stuff is normal sizes, 14mm, 17mm, etc

might pick up a large channel lock for the oil filter, if you don't have an oil filter wrench of some sort already.

Based on others guidance, I would get a standard home owners tool set and maybe add a 1/2" ratchet with a 30mm socket as well. Harbor Freight has decent tools if you are not using them daily and should serve your purpose.

I would not get carried away trying to fill the tool box. Just the standard stuff like a couple of screwdrivers, channel locks, crescent wrenches, combination open/box end set & 3/8th drive socket set.

Let time dictate what else may be needed.

Assuming you have basic hand tools. Review the owners manual and the things you would do, go do a dry run. Meaning put a wrench on it.
For those of us that have lots o tools, it's difficult to say what someone should buy. Like magicman said, let time dictate. So far on even my MX, basic wrenches sockets and a torque wrench are all I have needed.
