I had my rear tires filled by the dealership when the tractor was delivered about 5 years ago, and never gave a thought as to how much they filled the tires. Today when I was filling the tractor with fuel I guess the outside temperature and moisture were just right, and I could see a line on the tires exactly where the RimGuard was installed. It is about an inch above the midpoint in the rim. When I asked about the quantity that they installed, I was told that it would be about 3/4 of the tire's diameter. What is the correct amount of fill that should be in the tires?

IF you turn the tire so the VALVE STEM is at the 12 o'clock position - that is were the fluid SHOULD be!

This is 73% Fill by the way

(This was calculated specifically for the 26x12x12 Tire using CAD)

Typically top of rim is approx 75% Fill

Yep. To the top of the steel wheel.

Then the dealer skimped on the fill of the tires. I will have to dig out the invoice to see if they charged by the gallon or a flat fee.

I wish I had a dealer locally that uses RimGuard. My only option was Ballast Star which I am not a huge fan of. I also found the real tires were filled way above the top of the rim which required me to jack up the rear of the tractor and drain out the excess fluid.

Over full would not have hurt it one bit.

Rim Guard has an online calculator.

The local dealer installed Rim Guard in the rear tires of my M6060 and charged me for 144 gallons. When I ran the tire size through the online calculator these are the results. Did they actually put in 72 gallons per wheel, I don't know, but I tend to trust the local dealer. Also, I remember checking tire pressure and forgot to roll the tractor so that the valve stem was at 12 o'clock. When I used the tire pressure gauge I had some Rim Guard come out and the valve stem was around the 10 to 11 o'clock position.

Agree as well with NIW, however it is very very messy when you find out it is over filled, speaking from experience:oops:
