I'm trying to replace a thermostat in a Kubota L2800 tractor.

Do I remove the top two bolts that are on the housing next to the rubber pipe?

I tried loosing the bolts and they are not moving at all.

Thanks

Yes it is under that piece, if you remove the hose you can see the thermostat.

suggest that you remove the rubber water pipe to get better access to the bolts.

Possibly the paint is what's holding the bolts.

I would go with a 6-point socket so as to not strip the bolt heads and a breaker bar - they'll come out!

Why do you want to remove the thermostat?

Is it overheating?

Had to remove the rubber water pipe to get better access to the bolts.

Once that was done was able to get access to remove the bolts!

A good idea when you put the bolts back in is to use a light coat of anti-seize on the threads. Makes future removal easy. I do this on thermostat necks and water pumps. Be very careful when you start the tractor back up to make sure you have proper circulation. If air gets trapped in the system, the coolant won't circulate and thermostat won't open. You will over-heat the engine.
