I have a MX4800 4x4 with R4 tires that I like for my use around home as they don't tear up the yard or grass strip I mow . The size tires on the MX4800 4x4 are 1200x16.5 on the front and 17.5L-24's on the rear .

I recently just purchased a MX5200 4x4 and it has the standard farm R1 tires . The size of them are 9.5x16 on the front and 14.9x26 on the rear .

Can I swap them out with no problems ? The front tires are about the same size in height with a tape measure , but the rears are quite a bit of difference in height (several inches actually ) .

Are the gear ratio's different on these two tractors since they have different types of tires ?

Just curious what you guys thoughts were on this issue since both are 4x4's and different style tires .

As usual , thanks in advance for your help from allot of you on here !

You can swap them out. I purchased my mx5200 from the dealer with the same R4 sizes you mention. After realizing what shitty tires R4s are for fieldwork or operating anywhere in snow i had the dealer switch them out to R1. My R1 fronts are the same as yours. My R1 rears are 13.6x28 but I couldve chose the 14.9x26 also. Taller are better for traction. Also if you can still get to their website for choosing your tractor options, all the sizes we have mentioned here are options for the Mx 4800/5200/5800.
