Got it built to the next opening. Maybe 75 feet so far
That is a great wall! I would like to see a picture up close on how you stacked those rocks. I have many rocks on my property but they are all round. I don't have any flat rocks here.

Thanks for all the kind words.
Armylifer - Many of the rocks have little or no flat surfaces, so I use lots of "shim" stones to level and support the uglies, then the weight and placement of subsequent stone helps to hold everything together.
I will get some close up pics

This rock/stone thing is so interesting to me because I have no rocks on my property. None as in zilch. The creek beds are just hard slick clay.

Here are some closeups.
The front is the "view" side.
The back is buttressed with culls

Looking good. I built one as a retaining wall last fall using rocks from my property. Didn’t have to look far to find them.

Brings back memories- but mine are mostly buried in the raised driveway project

Here in Texas they build similar walls and them come back with smaller stones and fill in all the openings like chinking.

Your walls look great

Started building today on the east side of the opening and got this far just using what I was finding in the old wall rubble ahead me. I'd dig and sort and place as I moved along. It sure makes for creative stone placement.

After clearing the "side yard" and preparing the hugelkuktur beds, I finally got back to the wall.
This time starting from the newly exposed ledge rock and working back to the last section I built.
Maybe 20 feet to go, total length as you can see in one of the shots is about 300 feet.
