My clock automatically does the time change. Wish they would do away with it altogether.

I too wish the time would be constant throughout the year.

I like the daylight in the evenings.

In Japan they keep the clock the same all year round. One thing I noticed when doing a solo bicycle tour in Japan years ago for a month, was that people were out in the Summer mornings jogging at 5 AM, before going to work, and that the Sun started coming up around 4 AM.

BUT it got dark even in mid summer around 7 PM...maybe earlier, don't remember exactly.

Personally, being retired it should make no difference to me, but somehow it still does. I prefer long daylight in the evenings. Mornings starting between 4 and 5 AM don't work for me for whatever reason...

Edit: Japan used to have DST but abandoned it. DST was called "summertime" there.

I see the senate passed a bill to keep DST all year round, starting in Fall of 2023. Time will tell if the house passes the bill and the president signs it.

The argument is that more people are out and about in the evenings, as compared to early mornings, so more daylight in the evening will benefit the most people...

Works for me.

All bills originate in the House, so the bill must have already come TO the Senate FROM the house.

Interesting. Is that a fact?

Do not know but I am interested. Just seems like what you are saying would limit the Senate to being at best a rubber stamp entity.

Kind of doubt that...but what do I know?

All spending bills must originate in the House, not all bills.

All spending bills must originate in the House!
After the House passes a spending bill, it is then sent on to the Senate.

The Senate then reviews every bill, makes any changes they deem necessary, and then sends it back to the House.
And so it goes, until both House and Senate have given their final approval.

The Senate has final bill approval, with the president having veto power, which may be overridden with a 2/3 majority Senate vote.

It is a slow process!
Said to be a lot like dripping molasses.
