Ken, the 2x72 is a home-made unit with a treadmill motor for variable speed and a commercial set of drive and idler wheels.

Took a little tuning to get it to run consistently, but you're right, don't know how I managed all those years without one.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting it dirty. :D

The lathe is an ancient (Over 100 years for sure, possibly 125-ish) Seneca Falls Star 30. Had it basically given to me, and have been locating accessories and making some repairs for a while now. It'll never be tool-room accurate, but it's plenty tight enough for me.
