I've been hard at work over a month now on my G2160. Haven't been able to work steadily on it due to baby sitting duties at times for my little 14 mos old grand daughter but lots of work. Pulled body work, did some minor repairs to it, repainted upper/lower hood, rear fender pan. Rolled on Herculiner bed liner in place of the glued down rubber mat. Added in rear LED lights, modified OE headlight housings and installed high intensity LED array lamps, added wiring, switch and relay for using pull behind 25 gal boom sprayer (or whatever else may need electrical power). Replaced dash indicator lamps with COB LED lamps (much brighter than the old 194 incandescent lamps).
Am finally going together with it. Hopefully (unless grand baby duties crop up) it will be working hard by mid to late week :D
As you will see by the photos there was LOTS of cleaning to do. The PO was not very good about keeping it clean. But, finally progress is visible :D

Looks like a good rehab. We don’t see too many G series rebuilds on OTT, keep it coming!

Daughter put the new vinyl decals on the hood for me. I'll post later. I bought OEM ones but not the ones for this model. But these look AWFULLY good and she did a great job. I have some aftermarket emblems I will install as well once I decide a final place. That are black background, with stylized KUBOTA in orange followed by Diesel Power in a clear 3D applique. Thinking either down low on the lower hood or on either side of the rear bodywork.

Great work and I know - very time consuming!
How do you think the Herculiner will hold up on the floor?
I've thought about it for the floor of my TLB but as yet undecided.
Is that an all new paint job too?

Yep all new paint job. I figured the Herculiner should hold up fine since it's only me getting on the machine with rubber soled shoes anyway. And hell it's made to line truck beds. I'm certainly not gonna beat it up that bad

Further progress. Tomorrow mower deck will go on and be realigned and height calibrated. Mower is fully greased, gear lube changed in the gear box, all grease fittings hit under the tractor and all body panels and seat bolted up. Now I am finally ready for a shower :D

I put Herculiner on the deck of my Ford 1920 about 6 years ago.
Still looks great!

And it's finished! First time out of the garage since April 3. Got a couple little adjustments to touch up but nothing to keep me from using it. But so happy to have it back. Now I gotta clean up my main garage.

That is a great job!
Keep 'er waxed and clean whatever you do!
After seeing your floor/deck and others testimonials, I bought a can of Herculiner to do the floors of my TLB.

Got my first cut in yesterday. Did very well. I need to get the calibration on the mower a little better. I.E. when the dial for cut height is set for say 3.0" it's actually not it's more like 2.5 (maybe less) and I still have a slight amount of "scalp" if I hit a little dip in the lawn. Not as bad but still there. Thinking I might have to still touch up the front link adjustment slightly. Otherwise a nice ride. I also was able to repair/replace/adjust some of the HST Pedal linkage and got back the reverse speed and power it's supposed to have. I also adjusted the top speed in forward down by what feels like about 3 or 4 mph (I did not confirm this with GPS only seat of the pants). Much more manageable now. I really would like to have a tach on it though. I had one on my Honda 4514 and it was so helpful for regulating ground speed when I was using my sprayer. I also noted that there was a version of this machine with "cruise control". Does anyone know how that worked? Can it be added? Not needed for mowing but for running my sprayer it would be VERY helpful. Anyway I am VERY happy. I also have a new set of these blades coming for it AmazonSmile : By ProPartsPlace 3 Predator USA Mulching Blades 60" KUBOTA K5371-34330 RCK60B-23BX BX24 7/8" Cent : Patio, Lawn & Garden I had bought a set last year. So since my wife works at this place Estwing - Manufacturer of the finest American made hand tools. She said she can take them into work and the guys can do a professional sharpening on them. Allowing me to simply rotate a freshly sharp set of blades easily. Also still got a tiny bit of "scalp" when I hit s slight dip in the lawn so I think a little touchup on the front link adjustment may be in order. Plus I think I need to adjust the height linkage slightly as it seems to cut a bit shorter than indicated on the adjustment dial. But, I am overall VERY happy with the results

Looks GREAT!

(But that mower deck looks crummy with that grass on it.… Couldn’t you take a little bit more pride in your machinery than to let grass sit on it?)

:p 🤣 :ROFLMAO:
