Not everybody might be interested in this topic but these are very interesting videos with Hoot Gibson. He did not mention that STS-27 also had a left inboard leaky tire that required extra time with the shuttle belly towards the Sun to try to warm up the tire and increase the pressure before landing. So, it must have been fun all the way around for the crew.
Using high tech (a horse through) we found that the leak was due to an overpressure wheel thermal plug, no longer to be used, and its threaded hole in the wheel was plugged with a rivet per approved engineering. 😱
