I have an RCR1872 rotary cutter, and the front skids have worn pretty thin. The Landpride parts diagram for the cutter shows replaceable skid shoes held on with nuts and bolts, but mine is not replaceable. It’s a continuous welded piece. My question is how do you replace this skid? Do I just weld a new piece over the thin section? Do I cut out the old piece out and weld the new one in it’s place? I was thinking of making a new skid shoe with a second piece welded to it at 90 degrees along the side. I could drill through the piece welded to the side of the skid and the side of the mower for easier replacement if needed in the future. Thanks for your help.
