I have the chance to purchase an RCR1660 rotary cutter for a VERY good price and am wondering if it would work behind my LX3310. It was being used behind a B2910 and the owner doesn't need it anymore.

IIRC, the 1660 is a light duty 60" cutter.

Though it probably exceeds the 500 Lb. Kubota recommended maximum weight for a rotary cutter by a few pounds, your 3310 has adequate HP to operate it in most conditions.

If any of your ground is steep you will need at least 3 front weights.

For a very good price,I think the OP would be OK with this unit.
Previous owner hasn't torn it up yet.
And the B2910 has been around awhile.
Good Luck!

I found the specs and manual for the RCR1660 on line and you are correct in saying it's a light duty cutter. I thought it was going to be the older model of the RCR1860, not the RCR1260! So my next question is, has anyone used the RCR1860 behind an LX3310? Thanks for all of your replies!

I had the 1860 behind my 2610. Did ok till very heavy grass, had to slow down.
A few others here have that cutter, maybe they will chime in.

Without options, e.g., chains, the 1860 is 100 Lbs. (and 1 foot) beyond Kubota recommended rotary cutter limitations in the 3310 Operator's Manual. Kubota provides such limitations for reasons, most of which are not obvious.

Can you use one with your 3310? Of course, in some circumstances.

If you plan to use it on steep ground you will need front weights. If the 3310 is built like my B3350 (I believe it is) you cannot hang weights on the front of the frame so will need a weight bracket for the weights. Both weights and bracket must be removed to mount the FEL. You will find installation/removal of weights and bracket to be a routine PITA.

go for it, I run RCF2060 which is nearly identical to RCR1860 on LX3310, totally fine, barely know its back there.

1660 is a nice light to medium duty unit, I owned an RCR1648 and put it through a lot with B2601, it was a great unit.
