I bought a new set of front tires today (Carlstar (Carlisle) Ground Force 400 10x16.5) for my L5030 HST. The tires I replaced were Samson 10x16.5. It's a little late to ask, but is it safe to assume the outside diameter is close enough to standard that the new tires won't put the tractor in a bind in 4WD?

Thank you,
Hawk

You should be fine.
Do they look like the same size?

If you still have old tires mounted, measure how far on the ground it takes for the tire to rotate one revolution, then when you mount the new ones compare the measurements.

Why not just use a cloth measuring tape and measure the diameter of the tire at the center once it is mounted and inflated? Tire pressure can cause a deviation of the measurement as stated above.
I am not trying to get into a disagreement with the Wolfman, just pointing out a different method.

It's not a bad method, but that still does not give you a accurate RC measurement.
The easiest is caulk the tire and ground roll it one turn and measure the distance.
