I've picked up several pallets of feed (2100 lbs), out of bed of truck, with my tractor over the months using my QA 48" pallet forks. Of course I have ballast in tires and throw a large round bale on the back. No problems.

This past weekend I went to pick a pallet, but it wouldn't budge. I then realized there was an extra 6 bags, so it was pushing 2400 lbs. I removed those extra bags and I was able to lift the pallet out.

Question, with the height and the reach, how do I properly determine my lifting capacity with my QA 48" forklift attachment? According to the manual, at the pin in my power position its about 3741 pounds, but at edge of bucket (31 inches), its only 2725. I'm obviously reaching out way past that with a pallet.

I was worried my tractor also might have a power issue, but in typing this up, I think I answered my own question.

next time.....
..place the 'extra' bags up against the 'frame',see if it lifts...
as you found out the further infront of the frame, the less you can lift..
