You can turn the app off by:
Right click on the taskbar - You will get a list of apps
Select "News and Interests" - You will get a list of options
Select "Turn Off"

That worked for me.

This might help if you want to actually delete the app:

There is a post about half a page down by SALCOLLA that appears to be what you need to know. I have not done this so I can't vouch for it.

Gets frustrating sometimes. My 90 yo mother try's to roll with the punches but every update it seems like they change something. Recently they changed the tool bar on word and really messed her up for awhile. I bought her that copy in 2017 just so she wouldn't have to deal with changes but they changed it anyway. There should be an old folks setting for these programs that don't allow changes :)

I'm sure glad I'm still running Windows 7. I'll run it as long as possible, then switch to some flavor of Linux.
I knew Win10 was going to be a pain in the derriere when it came out, and all the problems friends and family have had with it so far proves me right. QC at MS has gone to Hell.

You need to upgrade. Hackers prey on older operating systems.

Yup, it still boots up about the same as the 7 and both of them far outdistance the 10.

My best move was getting this Macbook Air. It's different and took a bit of time, but it is a winner. (y)
