I looked online to possibly buy a polyurethane cutting edge for my BX2750D front snow blower. Has anyone ever used flat polyurethane trim molding that you can buy at Lowes and Home Depot to trim around exterior windows? I have a lot of it in my woodshop and was wondering if it's as durable as the Polyurethane Snowplow Cutting Edges that you can buy online?

It is a lot less expensive than the Kubota part, so give it a try and let us know how it works for you. I just ordered a new steel one for my snowblower today along with new shoes. I see these as wear items that just need to be replaced periodically.

I'd just try it and find out since you have it. I don't think you have to wait for snow to try it.

However, the materials (rubber and UMHW) at https://www.goodworkstractors.com/ is another option.
You can also buy UHMW poly bars from McMaster. Quick price comparison:

3/4 × 5 x 60 - $149 vs $248.

I replaced the steel edge on my back blade with a piece of deckboard like Trex. Has lasted 4 years. The board happened to be free, store had a piece lying around. Have a V shaped drain area to scrape between two barns and the corners of the steel blade would have gouged up the concrete. The trex blade works great, is a little worn on the corners. Also works well if I want to scrape snow off the lawn.
