If the LX2610 is in stock with a mower, can you take delivery and mow the grass, then take it back for loader install and implements when the time comes?

Even used equipment is now in short supply. I sold my BX22 in less than 12 hours of posting it on Facebook Marketplace. Knowing that snow equipment is going to be in short supply next fall, I bought a used plow last weekend for the tractor, and had to pay 2/3 of new for a 1 year old plow. Normally they sell for 50% of new.

It is not just a short supply issue but also an increase in demand. Covid shut downs reduced the supply chain but people staying home because of Covid made them realize that they needed stuff so they went out and bought equipment. So it is really a double whammy to the availability of equipment.

Just to add to the conversation, my father just bought a green tractor and they are about a month and a half out too (he used to work for JD so he still gets employee discount). He also tried to get ahold of the Kubota dealer sales several times and they never called him back so it was an easy choice for him.

I've been reading about a lot of people getting lenghty wait times to get their tractors. All I can say is that I guess we are lucky here in Ottawa. I walked in the dealer, picked a B2601+backhoe+thumb+loader. The sales guy told me the only thing that was missing was the backhoe but there were a few of them in Toronto. I got everything delivered 10days later.

I missed out on two B2650's but was fortunate last summer I got the first LX 2610 my dealer received. It took about a month before it was assembled with the loader and 60" MMM. Box blade took two months to come in. My snow pusher and blower were in stock when I went in to buy but the grapple took 3.5 months. Ordered a core aerator and they thought a six week timeframe. Still have a month to find out.

It is VERY crazy. I was perfectly happy to go with used equipment and had been shopping the market hard since summer (both green and orange). I just couldn't justify the upcharge that is occurring with low-hour well-cared-for equipment. When you get up to 90-100% of new cost, it just made NO sense. As others have noted, the same is happening to campers, boats, bikes, etc.

I wasn't comfortable pulling the trigger @ the end of 2020 and then they delayed the good 0% financing program until recently. That, plus the lack of availability here on LX's of any type put me over the top into the L and keeping my small ford going with spit and band-aids for grass cutting duties. I will have to bite the bullet eventually and may go zero-turn for that.

I have to admit that I am not sad that I went bigger/more expensive but it was a bit of a "sell" to the other half. The KTAC looks to be a great program, but that was a big pill to swallow on top of tax etc. as well.

Dealers were pretty hard to get quotes from and it was very frustrating and made me want to walk away. I ended up with 6 quotes and called about double that in a 2-hour radius from home.

In my field we are in the process of replacing some large standby generators. Every supplier is telling us 16 to 25 weeks! Its insane!

I was fortunate; my dealer had 2 LX2610 SUs in stock with loaders. The dealer also had all of implements/attachments I wanted: LP Grapple, LP Rotary cutter, LP Finish mower, LP Spreader, LP Quick Hitch and a Dirt Dog Box blade (LP would have been a month or two). He did have to order/install a Long 3rd function. I got everything delivered in about 10 days. I got a good deal - not an incredible deal.

The dealer said anything ordered was taking about 3 months.

Woohoo!!

My new next door neighbor moved in a little less than a year ago, and they're finally thinking of buying their first tractor. They've been texting me over the last few days for info and advice, and it is so fun! They think my L3301HST looks frighteningly big (even though it's a compact tractor), but think that a backhoe would be handy for their plans, so I'm nudging them towards the BX23S. I hope they don't have to wait too long once they decided to take the plunge.

A friend went by the Kubota dealer earlier this week, and told me that they were unloading at least a dozen BX23S tractors, and some larger tractors. It appears that the bigger tractor dealers are getting inventory, and the smaller dealers are still waiting. There is no doubt that production has been cut in half due to Covid.
I called to get a price on some lumber today, and they said that they couldn't deliver for a few days, because all the armed guards that they hired to protect the yard, don't want to go out with the trucks. They all have said that it is too risky to escort such a high dollar item. The armored cars can only handle the 8 footers.

Many things are either in short supply, much more expensive or both. I'm in the process of buying 3 more 19' electric scissors lifts for our fleet at work. The quotes are surprisingly reasonable (around 10% more than we spent on the last 6 nearly 10 years ago). However, for different brands (Snorkel, MEC, Skyjack) lead times range from next week to November 2021.

Supply and demand, its crazy how it affects the market, I was fortunate enough when I went to trade in my first tractor, they had a 2650 and 3 Lx models on their lot to choose from. Had the tractor, box blade and rear blade delivered inside of a week.

"It appears that the bigger tractor dealers are getting inventory, and the smaller dealers are still waiting."

This was the takeaway message from my search - The smaller ones that had an LX (& only one or two did) wanted a huge premium. Made no sense and made me feel better about the fair deal in short order on a L.

This week I was placing an order for some fab work and the guy said a friend of his has a business building storage sheds. He told me his friend buys lumber by the train car load and cannot get pricing until the lumber is offloaded at their shop.

Talked to a Toyota car dealer this week. Last month was the best month by far in the 20+ year history of the dealership. Sold 316 cars. The previous high was 270. They attribute it to pent up demand ,government stimulus, and of course confidence thanks to the vaccine. The stock market is anticipating record GDP growth moving forward ,perhaps thru next year. A pretty amazing time period to be living thru. Most I know are vaccinated now. It makes a big difference.
