Is it ok to haul 4x5 round bails in high range ( about 1/2 mile on road ) or should i stick to low range?

This is on your M7060?

Hauling in high might not be a problem........... but speed is your real enemy

I assume your doing it on the loader?
It's better to road them on the three point.
Much less stress on the loader.

4X5 rounds probably weigh around 800#-1,000# max. Actually if you put one on the front and one on the back, on flat ground you can cruise at what ever speed your comfortable with while not straining the tractor (on an M7060).

bails weighs about 1000#
what's the hurry ? 1/2mile is only 2500 feet
do you have rear weight to offset the bail ?
you could try one,but steering and stopping will be 'interesting'
what kind of traffic ? paved or gravel road ? sunny or snowy ?
how many bails to haul ?
one...I'd loader it down..faster than pickup
more, toss in pickup, or wagon

If you have an accumulator to take the shock out of bumps it will help. The question is how bumpy is your road and does your rear end get light enough under the load to lose traction?

That front axle pivot can sure take a beating if carrying a heavy load far on a bumpy road.

Carrying on the 3-pt hitch is better.
