I went down to my land today to mow some trails with my B7100 and when I arrived I decided to take a quick drive about with the Jeep. I came around a corner, (40 yards) and surprised this fellow. I wish I could have had the time to get better photos but knew he was not going to wait around and pose. As it was I had to take this photo thru my windshield. While having had bear on trail cams this is my first sighting with my eyes.

yeah they are on the move. Had one in the front yard the night before last. Just passing through I assume. People would go nuts if I said anything so I just kept it to myself. I live not even 1/2 mile from the high school so if social media were to know about it, utter chaos would ensue.

Last year when a bear made himself known on my woods cameras I put a note in the 6 closest neighbors' mailboxes - most have small kids. Imagine how surprised I was when a couple called to thank me and let me know Yogi had already taken down their bird feeders in the past few weeks.
